Catalan exports grew 10.3% in September compared with the same month in 2013, attaining nearly 5.27 billion euros and registering a month with more overseas sales by Catalan companies than any other on record.
According to the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, the industries with more bearing regarding Catalan exports have been the capital goods and consumer goods industries along with the chemical industry.
This growth in Catalan exports during the month of September has been greater than many leading European countries such as Germany (8.5%), France (5.9%) or Great Britain (-4.5%). At an international level, overseas sales in the United States have grown 3.9% and 6.9% in Japan.
In accumulative terms, between January and September, Catalan exports have reached a new record, attaining the 44.75 billion euros. This implies a 2.3% growth rate in relation to the same period in 2013.
