The Delegation of the Government of Catalonia works alongside 193 U.N. Member States and top international civil society groups in negotiations that will define the world development agenda for the near future
Negotiations on Post-2015 Development Agenda
Ambassador Macharia Kamau, Permanent Representative of Kenya and co-chair of the U.N. Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Ambassador David Donoghue, Permanent Representative of Ireland, have been appointed to lead the negotiations beginning this week at the United Nations in New York.

As acting co-president of the Network of Regional Governments for Sustainable Development (nrg4SD), one of the organizers of the Local Authorities Major Group, the Government of Catalonia is participating in these negotiations to defend the important role that will be played by sub-State governments in implementing the Post-2015 Development Agenda.

The negotiations beginning this week are the first of seven rounds that will culminate in a Special Summit on Sustainable Development at the United Nations in New York. The Summit, to be held in September 2015, will coincide with the arrival of the heads of state of U.N. Member States for the General Assembly beginning that month.
