This percentage is 6.9% points higher than the voter turnout registered in the 2012 parliamentary elections
The Minister for Governance and Institutional Relations, Meritxell Borràs, held her second press conference of the day shortly after the second voter turnout summary was published for the elections to the Parliament of Catalonia.
 
Borràs noted that, at 6pm the average voter turnout in the four provincial constituencies was 63.2%. Almost 7 points higher than the 56.3% turnout registered at the same time during the 2012 elections to the Parliament of Catalonia.
 
 
By demarcation
 
Voter turnout in all four constituencies registered a higher percentage that in the parliamentary elections of 2012. In this second summary, Girona remains the constituency with the highest turnout with 65.95%.  Additionally, the demarcation with the largest increase in voter participation is Tarragona, with almost 9 points above 2012 levels.

The Minister for Governance and Institutional Relations will hold a final press conference later at 10.30pm. She also reminded those attending the press conference that once the polling stations close, the ballot-counting process could be followed at resultats.parlament2015.cat/ini09v_L4.htm.
 
The Government of Catalonia has also made available to citizens an application for tablets and phones to monitor participation data and results in real time as the day proceeds. The application Eleccions 27S is available in English and until now it has been downloaded 79,000 time from 111 different countries.
 
From 10.30pm onwards, Minister Meritxell Borràs will hold a final press conference to report on voter turnout data and the provisional results of the day’s election.
