The Government of Catalonia, with President Artur Mas as acting head of the Catalan Executive, wishes to express its strongest condemnation and utmost revulsion regarding the attacks that have occurred tonight in the city of Paris.

 

The Executive wishes to convey its solidarity to the victims as well as their families and friends. The Government of Catalonia also wishes to make public its unconditional support to the government of the French Republic and, once more, it will unequivocally stand beside it in these tragic moments.

 

With regards to the authors of these heinous terrorist attacks, the Government of Catalonia is confident that they will be detained by the French authorities and tried before the courts. Democracy and liberty will never be defeated by vile and criminal acts and will always prevail against terror and barbarity.
