The Catalan Government has announced this Thursday the opening of six new Trade & Investment foreign offices this 2017. The Minister of Business and Knowledge, Jordi Baiget, has explained that the offices in Zagreb (Croatia), Nairobi (Kenya) and Teheran (Iran) will be opened in the first quarter of 2017, and Los Angeles (United States), Havana (Cuba) and Amsterdam (Netherlands) offices will be operational before the end of the year.

The Catalonia Trade & Investment worldwide network grows from 36 to 42 offices and it will provide its services in 109 foreign markets around the world, helping Catalan companies to become more international and global, and offering services for international companies considering Catalonia and Barcelona as an investment location in Europe.

The Government of Catalonia aims to keep boosting the internationalisation of Catalan companies – whose exports will reach their best figures ever in 2016 – and attracting foreign investment in Barcelona and the rest of the country.

Moreover, Catalonia Trade & Investment will support and organize 138 trade missions in 59 countries in 2017. Over 1,000 companies from several sectors are expected to participate in these missions during 2017. Trade missions are the best tool for Catalan companies to consolidate regular exports and increase their turnover and employment creation.

Catalonia Trade & Investment is the public agency that works to attract foreign direct investment to Barcelona and Catalonia, promoting the area as an attractive, innovative and competitive business location, and also works to help Catalan companies to grow, expand and increase their exports and innovation projects abroad.
