The Executive has presented the Government of Catalonia's new digital administration model, which aims to make the Generalitat a leader in digital transformation and the design of new digital public services that are proactive and customised.
The Executive has presented the Government of Catalonia’s new digital administration model, which aims to make the Generalitat a leader in digital transformation and the design of new digital public services that are proactive and customised.
 
The new model is in line with the Catalan government’s goal of empowering citizens and fully democratising technology and is intended to facilitate the delivery of services that meet new social demands.
 
Key actions to deploy digital administration
 
  • In the coming months, the government is expected to adopt a decree on digital administration that will establish the regulatory framework for the planned changes.
  • A guide setting out the main lines of action and projects has been produced to support the digital transformation process. The guide is intended to serve as a reference document for all ministries and units of the Administration of the Government of Catalonia and its public sector, enabling them to effectively tackle the challenges posed by the digital revolution in all public service areas.
  • A digital transformation manual for public employees has been presented. The manual is a pioneering document in public administration that defines the skills and competencies digital public employees should have.  In addition to presenting digital resources and best practice and recommendations, it encourages public employees to define their own digital transformation goals.
  • A guide to digital public services has been presented. The guide is intended to serve as a tool for moving beyond the traditional approach to creating administrative procedures in order to make them more focused on the people that services are aimed at.
