- Torra recognised the “effort chefs have made to reach this point of excellence and authenticity”
- The president of the Government of Catalonia, together with Ministers Teresa Jordà and Alba Vergés, presided over the closing ceremony of the 3rd Congress of Catalan Cuisine
The president of the Government of Catalonia, Quim Torra, said today that one of the main reasons Catalan cuisine has gained international “prestige and recognition” is the fact that chefs and restaurateurs “have known how to return to our origins in a very creative way, but with an awareness of where we come from”.
At the closing ceremony of the 3rd Congress of Catalan Cuisine, the head of the executive recognised the work of many chefs, who “have made a huge effort to reach this point of excellence and authenticity”. Torra said they have created a social perception that cooking is a “prestigious career option with good prospects” for young people who want to work in the sector. “Doing things well is in our DNA, and that’s the key to the success you’ve achieved over all these years.”
