The president of Catalonia and the minister-president of Flanders discussed the Covid-19 pandemic yesterday and shared ideas and good practices on how to tackle the challenges ahead. The two heads of government expressed their deepest condolences for the tragic loss of life in Flanders and Catalonia.
Minister-President Jan Jambon and President Quim Torra agreed that the situation calls for innovative approaches to address what remains a very complicated situation and discussed the main elements of their lockdown exit proposals, as well as initiatives aimed at protecting jobs and businesses, restoring growth and strengthening the economy.
Finally, they explored the possibility of having expert groups in charge of the lockdown exit process in Flanders and Catalonia exchange scientific information in the near future.
