Catalonia participates in the Paris Peace Forum with the innovative experience of fishing and maritime co-management
The Catalan Government has created a unique participatory governance scheme for the seas based on co-management which places people and nature at the centre of decision-making and transfers effective power to sectoral actors, scientists and civil society, in an equality plan with the administration. This new model is known as co-management, and it works very well.

The Catalan proposal for fisheries co-management has been chosen by the Paris Peace Forum 2020 as one of the six European projects among the 100 selected out of the 850 worldwide proposals. The Paris Peace Forum is an event that aims to mobilize international agents interested in collective action. It takes place every year from 11 to 13 November in Paris with the aim of placing global governance at the top of the international agenda.
