NAFSA 2022

The Catalan university system's international brand, Study in Catalonia, has launched its new website to coincide with its participation in the NAFSA 2022 Annual Conference & Expo. The conference, which begins today and runs until Friday 3 June, is being held for the first time in two years following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, in Denver, Colorado. The new international Study in Catalonia website, promoted by the Ministry of Research and Universities through the Inter-university Council of Catalonia (CIC), has been redesigned to be more accessible to international students. Among other things, it now features a search engine for bachelor's and master's degrees and allows faster and more intuitive navigation to the most interesting content for university students from all over the world interested in studying in Catalonia, such as practical information about coming to our country, official recognitions and validations, and information on the different university cities. The design is also fully responsive and especially designed for mobile phones.

The website also incorporates the brand-new image of the international brand Study in Catalonia and the campaign Stories of Human Values, where students and researchers from all over the world explain first-hand their academic and personal experiences in Catalonia. Those attending NAFSA 2022 will be able to hear these testimonials at the Catalan delegation stand in the Colorado Convention Center. Thousands of international higher education professionals from more than 100 countries are expected to attend this year's conference, and Denver is expected to become the meeting point for establishing new contacts with the world's universities.

The next international higher education event will be held in Barcelona as part of EAIE 2022, a European platform for global partnerships to be hosted by Catalonia. During NAFSA 2022, the Study in Catalonia stand will extend an invitation to all those present to participate in the upcoming annual conference of the European Association for International Education (EAIE), to take place from 13 to 16 September in Barcelona. Visitors to the stand will also find QR codes with all the information on Catalan universities and the range of bachelor's and master's degree programmes on offer, as well as practical aspects for foreign students' stays in Catalonia.

The Catalan university system has been participating in the NAFSA conference since 2010. Since then it has maintained its presence in both face-to-face and online formats, with the aim of maintaining and positioning the presence of the Catalan university system in the field of internationalisation and research. NAFSA represents a nexus for international higher education and is essential for facilitating collaborations between university systems around the world. Thus, participation in this conference is an opportunity to learn about trends in international relations in the field of higher education institutions and to set up academic and research exchanges through mobility programmes for bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and international summer schools.

It is thanks to Catalan attendance at international higher education events that the internationalisation of the Catalan university system is so successful, along with the quality and prestige of its universities, as evidenced each year in international rankings.
