The Catalan Minister for Business and Labour, Roger Torrent i Ramió, announced this morning that 80 Catalan companies and technology centres will be participating with a stand at this year’s Integrated Systems Europe (ISE). This is 9.6% more participation from Catalan companies than the previous year, according to the Ministry of Business and Labour, and the highest figure in the conference’s history. The conference, the world’s most important audiovisual industry event, will be held from 30 January to 2 February in Barcelona.
Catalonia will be the 5th territory with the most companies and entities participating in the event, surpassed only by China, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States, and ahead of countries such as South Korea, the Netherlands and France, according to data from the Ministry of Business and Labour. In fact, Catalan participation in the conference accounts for 67% of the total number of Spanish companies present at ISE.
Torrent made this known after holding a working meeting with ISE’s managing director, Mike Blackman. The Minister for Business and Labour stated that “ISE’s consolidation in Catalonia and in Barcelona clearly reinforces the worldwide vision of our territory as a benchmark hub for technology”. In this respect, he stressed that “ISE is an opportunity to generate a positive impact for Catalan companies in the sector: the presence of the show is important not only because it is being held here but also for the ramifications Catalan companies can establish there”.
Blackman explained that “ISE 2024 will see record participation, with 1,340 companies with stands and an expected 70,000 visitors, 25% more than the 2019 edition”.
