The Minister for Business and Labour, Roger Torrent i Ramió, claimed that “inter-territorial collaboration is key to being competitive in the transformation of the production model in which green hydrogen will be fundamental”, and for this reason, “it is very important that we join efforts as we are doing with the Ebro Hydrogen Corridor”.

The Minister for Business and Labour made these statements during the inauguration of the 2nd Forum of the Ebro Hydrogen Corridor, which took place today in Tarragona. The event also featured speeches by representatives from the Navarre, Aragon, and Basque governments, as well as from the SHYNE business consortium.

The aim of this project is to contribute to the decarbonisation of industry, improve its competitiveness and attract new investment in these regions. A total of 411 associated entities and 215 projects currently form part of this space.

In this regard, Torrent stressed the importance of green hydrogen and highlighted “the atmosphere of cooperation and public-private collaboration that has been generated in this project”.“Europe knows that this axis is very important”, and he pointed out that “southern Europe is an important player in the new energy and reindustrialisation model”.

During his speech, the Minister for Business and Labour explained that the incorporation of the uses of green hydrogen means “new productive solutions and new market possibilities for the business sector, especially for the industrial sector, which leads to the creation of quality jobs”.

The Minister stated that “the Government of the Catalonia is fully committed to the development of the green hydrogen ecosystem, supporting and facilitating projects”.
