The multinational Wolf Group, one of Europe's leading manufacturers and distributors of chemical products and systems for the construction industry, has invested 12 million euros and created 50 new jobs with the opening of a new factory in Catalonia, in the town of Gavà (Baix Llobregat). This investment project has been supported by the Government of Catalonia.

The new plant, which covers an area of 10 hectares, will be the first to manufacture polyurethane foams for the construction sector on the Iberian Peninsula.

The Catalan Minister for Business and Labour, Roger Torrent, expressed his satisfaction at the opening of the new plant "due to its strategic value, as the first polyurethane foam factory in Spain; because it contains advanced technologies, and because it is a project with potential for growth based on sustainability and innovation".

Torrent recalled that the Catalan government's objective is to "promote the reindustrialisation of Catalonia" in order to "restore the importance of industry in the country's productive model."

Wolf Group founder Jaan Puusaag stressed that "industrial companies are important employers, as they involve all groups within society and contribute to regional development." The company's CEO, Peeter Tohver, said that with this project "we anticipate an increase in our market share in Europe, and a boost in foam sales".

The new high-tech factory has the capacity to manufacture more than 70 foam combinations in its initial phase alone, and is anticipated to produce more than 5 million units in the first year. In fact, the Wolf Group will export its production from Gavà to more than 70 countries. The company has 5 factories and more than 400 employees worldwide.
