- Minister Parlon and Minister Espadaler took part in the event commemorating the 7th anniversary of the attacks, held at the Pla de l’Ós mosaic on the Rambla
The Catalan Minister for Home Affairs Public Safety, Núria Parlon, and the Catalan Minister for Justice and Democratic Quality, Ramon Espadaler, took part this morning in a ceremony to remember and pay homage to the victims of the terrorist attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils, held at Miró’s Pla de l’Ós mosaicon Barcelona’s Rambla.
The commemoration began with a minute’s silence, followed by a laying of flowers, first by the victims and their families, and then by the institutional representatives, accompanied by a live rendition of “El Cant dels Ocells” by the cellist Marçal Ayats.
The tribute was led by the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, and was also attended by the President of the Parliament, Josep Rull; the Spanish Government delegate in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto, and other political representatives, as well as security and emergency services.
As a result of this brutal terrorist attack on the Rambla in Barcelona and the promenade in Cambrils, sixteen people were killed and more than a hundred injured. The victims were of 34 different nationalities.
