Minister Niubó participated in the EU Council of Education and Culture to advocate the pivotal role of vocational education in both the education system and the country’s economic development.

She highlighted the importance of companies sharing responsibility in training, which is essential to consolidating a model that effectively supports both the productive sector and individual learners.

At the same time, she stressed the need for a vocational education system that is inclusive and flexible, capable of addressing the diverse learning needs of society. “Inclusive and equitable vocational education is vital for social cohesion and lifelong learning,” Niubó emphasised. She added that this requires breaking down remaining barriers to access that affect certain groups, providing tailored support pathways, and strengthening skills accreditation and guidance across all stages of education.

Strengthening links between vocational education, business, and communities

Niubó also insisted on the need to reinforce the connection between vocational education, businesses, and local communities through stable collaboration between training centres, public administrations, and relevant stakeholders.EUCO
