The Chief Executive finalised his official trip to the United States, during which he inaugurated the new Equity Point hostel in New York City. Equity Point is a Catalan owned youth hostel franchise with a large international presence founded in 2001. At present, the company manages over 2,200 beds in over nine establishments, including London, Lisbon, Marrakech, Madrid, Gerona, Barcelona and now in New York, specifically on Times Square (41st Street and 7th Avenue). The company has been the object of investment from funds coming from the capital risk investor Invercat, spearheaded by ACC1Ó with the objective of investing in Catalan businesses aiming to expand their operations.
 
Prior to the President’s visit to New York, Mas met with directors of La Farga holding group, a family-run company which manufactures and provides of semi-finished copper products and alloys for the electrical, metal packaging, railway, piping, automotive, billets and special conductors markets. The Chief Executive also visited the IBM instalments in New York and was interviewed by CNN's foremost international business correspondent Richard Quest, on CNN’s Quest Means Business.
